MTP Commander Terms of Service

Last updated: October 31, 2026

Overview

These terms apply to MTP Commander (package cc.buessow.mtpcommander), an Android file manager that copies files between your phone, devices connected over USB and, if you choose, your own Google Drive. By installing or using the app you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

The app is free. It has no accounts, no subscriptions, no in-app purchases and no ads.

License

The app’s source code is open source under the Apache License, Version 2.0. That license governs what you may do with the code, including copying, changing and redistributing it. These terms cover your use of the app as published by the developer.

The name “MTP Commander”, its logo and its app icon are not covered by the Apache License. If you distribute a modified version, give it a different name and icon, as described in the NOTICE file.

Your files are your responsibility

MTP Commander changes files only when you ask it to. Some of those changes cannot be undone.

Keep backups of files that matter to you before copying, replacing or deleting them, especially on devices you cannot easily restore.

No warranty

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. The developer does not promise that the app works with every phone or USB device, or that it is free of errors.

Device models and file contents shown by the app, such as a watch’s model name or the contents of a FIT file, are read from files on the device and may be incomplete or wrong.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any loss of data, damage to devices, or any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for intent or gross negligence where applicable.

Third-party services and devices

Acceptable use

Use the app only for files and devices you are allowed to access. Do not use it to copy content in violation of others’ rights or of applicable law.

Privacy

The app does not collect personal data. See the privacy policy for details.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated when the app changes. The date at the top will be revised, and continued use after an update means you accept the new terms.
